Guest Singers

Jane Burnell - Soprano

Praised for her "effortless, vivacious singing”, British/Irish Soprano Jane Burnell recently received a Master of Music in Vocal and Opera Studies at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of international Soprano, Linda Richardson.

She was the 2021 Sussex Young Musician of the Year, a 2022 Finalist of the RNCM Strauss Competition, and a multi Award-Winner at the 2024 David Clover Festival of Singing.

After being a Young Artist with Buxton Opera in 2023, this season Jane returned to make her professional opera debut, performing Gasparina La Canterina (Haydn) and Giovanna Ernani (Verdi). In Autumn 2024 Jane joins Wexford Festival Opera to perform Molly Allgood Lady Gregory in America (Caruso) and Chorus Le Maschere (Mascagni).

Jane is a regular concert soloist across the UK, particularly for Baroque repertoire, performing regularly with Manchester Baroque. Performance highlights include: Mozart Exsultate Jubilate (Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra) and Handel Messiah (Skipton Camerata).

As a recitalist Jane has performed at The Bridgewater Hall, Leeds Town Hall and the Howard Assembly Room.

Alongside performing Jane is a keen music educator, working with Leeds Lieder Education Programme and Grange Park Primary Robins.

Joshua Baxter - Tenor

Tenor Joshua Baxter is an active performer in operas, operettas and oratorios across the UK and Europe.

Joshua has also worked with companies including Buxton International Festival, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, The Grange Festival & Festival d’Aix-en-Provence performing and covering roles whilst also working in the Chorus.

He is also active on the Oratorio stage, performing works by Verdi, Bach & Smyth.
